PASS QUEST Shimano Direct Mount Narrow Wide Chainring | M9100 M8100 M7100 M6100 | 1.8mm Offset | 40T–48T
PASS QUEST Shimano Direct Mount Narrow Wide Chainring
Upgrade your Shimano direct-mount drivetrain with a larger chainring while fine-tuning chainring-to-frame clearance.
The PASS QUEST 1.8mm Offset Narrow Wide Chainring is CNC-machined from a solid plate of high-strength 7075-T651 aluminum alloy. Available in both 1.8mm inward and 1.8mm outward offset versions, it allows riders to optimize chainring position according to frame clearance and drivetrain setup.
Designed for Shimano direct-mount cranksets, this chainring is ideal for MTB, gravel, and custom builds requiring larger 40T–48T gearing.
KEY FEATURES
1.8mm Inward / Outward Offset Options
Two offset configurations are available to fine-tune chainring position and frame clearance.
1.8mm Inward Offset:
Moves the chainring approximately 1.8mm closer to the frame.
1.8mm Outward Offset:
Moves the chainring approximately 1.8mm farther away from the frame.
The offset options are especially useful when installing larger chainrings on frames with limited chainring clearance.
Shimano Direct Mount Compatibility
Designed for Shimano direct-mount cranksets, including selected XTR, XT, SLX, and Deore series cranksets.
Narrow Wide Tooth Profile
The alternating narrow/wide tooth profile provides improved chain engagement and retention, helping reduce the chance of chain drop during rough riding.
7075-T651 Aluminum Alloy
CNC-machined from high-strength 7075-T651 aluminum alloy for an excellent balance of stiffness, durability, wear resistance, and low weight.
Full CNC Machining
Each chainring is CNC-machined from a solid aluminum plate. Material is strategically removed from the rear to reduce weight while maintaining structural strength and rigidity.
Extended Tooth Profile
The extended tooth profile increases chain engagement and helps keep the chain securely seated on the chainring, even during aggressive riding.
Anodized Surface Finish
Available in Black or Silver. The anodized surface treatment improves surface durability and provides a clean, premium finish.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE OFFSET
1.8mm INWARD OFFSET
Moves the chainring approximately 1.8mm closer to the bicycle frame.
Choose this version when your drivetrain setup requires the chainring to sit farther inward and sufficient clearance between the chainring and frame is available.
1.8mm OUTWARD OFFSET
Moves the chainring approximately 1.8mm farther away from the bicycle frame.
Choose this version when additional clearance between the chainring and frame is required. This can be especially useful when installing a larger chainring on a frame with limited chainring clearance.
WHY CHOOSE A 1.8MM OFFSET CHAINRING?
Frame geometry, chainline, and chainring clearance vary between different bicycle models.
The 1.8mm inward and outward offset options provide additional flexibility when building a drivetrain with a larger chainring.
For riders who want to run 40T, 42T, 44T, 46T, or 48T gearing, choosing the correct offset can help improve frame clearance while maintaining the desired drivetrain configuration.
IMPORTANT FITMENT INFORMATION
Please check your crankset interface, chainline, and frame clearance before ordering.
Larger chainrings may not fit every bicycle frame.
The 1.8mm inward and outward offset options change the position of the chainring relative to the frame. Please select the appropriate version according to your bicycle setup.
If you are unsure which offset or chainring size is suitable for your bike, please contact us with your bicycle model, crankset model, current chainring size, and photos of the chainring/frame clearance before ordering.
